David Gilmour – The Night’s embrace: circus maximus 2024

Before landing in London, Los Angeles, and New York, and after two warm-up dates in Brighton, David Gilmour’s “Luck and Strange Tour” famously stopped in Rome for six nights. The second date in the capital, at the Circus Maximus, on September 28th, is fully documented in this bootleg box set, limited to just 250 copies and containing two CDs and four 180-gram colored LPs, a numbered certificate, a poster, and a four-page booklet. The combination of the IEM (“In Ear Monitor”) mix listened to on stage by the musicians and microphone recordings from the audience allows you to listen to the entire concert in excellent audio quality during which Gilmour (guitars and lead vocals), his daughter Romany (harp and vocals), Guy Pratt (bass and vocals), Ben Worsley (guitars), Greg Phillinganes (keyboards), Rob Gentry (keyboards), Adam Betts (drums), Louise Marshall and the Webb Sisters (Hattie and Charley) on backing vocals performed seven songs from the new album (including the cover of the Montgolfier Brothers’ “Between Two Points” sung by Romany), three songs from the previous “Rattle That Lock” and 11 Pink Floyd songs, including “The Great Gig In The Sky” arranged for voices, piano and slide only, an over 11-minute-long “Sorrow” and essential pieces such as the sequence “Breathe”/”Time”/”Breathe (reprise)”, “Fat Old Sun”, “Wish You Were Here”, “High Hopes” and the final “Comfortably Numb”. At the end of the setlist is the bonus track “Sings”, another piece from “Luck And Strange” taken from the October 2nd show
