Recorded live at the Alameda Coliseum, Oakland, California, USA on May 9th, 1977.

The legendary performance from Oakland on May 9, 1977 – undoubtedly the best-sounding concert of the ‘Animals’ tour. Similarly to the previous tour (‘Wish You Were Here’ in 1975).

And again, several performances were somehow recorded ‘suddenly’ from the audience, and the concert from Oakland is simply unique!

The musical content is also simply stunning! The entire ‘Wish You Were Here’ (strongly extended, including the second part of the ‘Shine On’ suite lasting over 20 minutes!), the entire ‘Animals’ (also changed/extended compared to the studio version) + 1 song from ‘Dark’ Side’!

So, as in the case of Los Angeles 1975 or Montreux 1970, a concert recorded among the audience using ‘almost’ professional equipment sounds better than the vast majority of official recordings from the mixing desk. There simply isn’t anything better on the subject of rare Pink Floyd from 1977.
