Released on The Magic Ear, “Meddle/Remade” is a box set limited to 300 numbered copies, containing four heavyweight colored LPs and a booklet. The first vinyl offers an “alternate version” of the 1971 album, with tracks remixed or featuring only acoustic instruments, in an entirely instrumental version (“Echoes”), or performed with different arrangements (the piano and blues version of “Seamus”). The second LP includes the 2023 remix of a vintage BBC Session in which Pink Floyd also performed “The Embryo” and the improvisation “Blues,” plus a version of “Echoes” recorded live at the Paris Theatre in London on September 30, 1971, and broadcast on the “Sounds Of The Seventies” program. The third vinyl (titled “The Evolution Of Echoes”) opens with a short chat with David Gilmour and Rick Wright and offers on both sides sound extracts that document the genesis and evolution of the song while the fourth disc includes other versions and alternative mixes of pieces such as “One Of These Days”, “A Pillow Of Winds”, “Fearless”, “Seamus” plus the version of “Echoes” performed during the concert of May 2, 1972 at Carnegie Hall in New York and taken from an excellent “audience” source.
