Captured at their now iconic set at Woodstock in New York on August 13, 1994, this live LP showcases LA thrash metal titans Metallica on The Shit Hits The Shed tour, in the midst of the global storm following the success of The Black Album. Ironically, this festival set only features two cuts from said record, the obligatory ‘Enter Sandman’ which serves as an epic closer, as well as the signature ballad ‘Nothing Else Matters’, while the rest of the set makes reference to each of their four previous classic records, with ‘Seek & Destroy’ (1982’s Kill ‘Em All), ‘For Whom The Bell Tolls’, ‘Fade To Black’ (1984’s Ride The Lightning), the juggernaut title-track from 1986’s Master Of Puppets as well as the haunting, Johnny Got His Gun inspired single from 1988’s …And Justice For All – ‘One’. In short, this is Metallica ripping through a barrage of essentials at the height of their creativity, popularity and peak “binge & purge” era.
